World changer, innovator, disrupter and believer - this young woman had us on the edge of our seats!

How (not) to start an orphanage... by a woman who did!

You may have seen her on 60 Minutes or read about her story...

This was a very special Gold Coast Women in Business breakfast with this incredible Australian achiever.

Tara is by no means your average young woman - she is a woman on a mission!

In 2011 was awarded NSW Young Australian of the Year in recognition of her work with Cambodian Children's Trust (CCT).

In an ever changing world, Tara has gone up against western beliefs and found a way through to evoke 'real' change in the lives of young orphans in Cambodia.

Tara says what started out for her as a holiday has turned into a life in Cambodia that she could never have imagined. She is an orphanage founder turned anti-orphanage campaigner.

Following her epic journey, Tara now speaks out against the spread of orphanages in developing countries, caused by the good intentions of foreign donors, and of harm that comes to children when they are separated from family and left to grow up in institutions.

As Managing Director of CCT, Tara has led programs and services to help Cambodian families escape poverty, while ensuring family preservation.

Her story is compelling and not one to miss.
